LE MONT SAINT MICHEL
A garment for it’s story
The brand Le Mont Saint Michel is founded in 1913 in Pontorson, near the famous monument. It was initially a family workshop before growing larger in the 20s and 30s and becoming the famous brand worn throughout the 20th century by craftsmen and peasants from Brittany and Normandy.
The collections are primarily simple and functional. At the time, the brand offered a wide range of products that became legends, such as the real work jacket made of heavy moleskin fabric, shirts for schoolboys, Amiens corduroy pants or even hunting clothes made of indestructible cotton canvas.
All these years and still today, Le Mont Saint Michel garments are designed for all different professions and moments of the week: Field work, hunting, Sunday service, family reunion, school... They are also designed to be durable and functional: special pockets, stitching, rivets, buckles with exclusive patents for different professions and occasions.
Often copied, never equaled, Le Mont Saint Michel garments set a new standard of quality that makes them famous and sought after by numerous collectors of vintage clothing and workwear around the world.
